Meet Alan A. Kimmel, DDS

Dr. Kimmel joined Oral Surgery Associates in 2006 and has been chosen repeatedly as one of the best oral and maxillofacial surgeons in surveys conducted by both Milwaukee’s Lifestyle Magazine and the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
A native of Milwaukee, Dr. Kimmel graduated from Nicolet High School. He attended Indiana University – Bloomington receiving his Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. In 2002, Dr. Kimmel graduated Cum Laude from Marquette University School of Dentistry, earning his degree of Doctor of Dental Surgery. In addition to his strong academic success as a dental student at Marquette University, Dr. Kimmel was elected into Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society and Alpha Sigma Nu Jesuit Honor Society for his committed leadership within the field of dentistry and the community. In 2006, Dr. Kimmel completed his residency training within the specialty of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Cook County Hospital in Chicago, IL.
Dr. Kimmel enjoys practicing the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery and has a special interest in dental implant surgery, pathology, reconstructive surgery, trauma and wisdom tooth removal. He is board certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Kimmel is currently the Oral Surgeon for the Milwaukee Admirals.
Dr. Kimmel is a member of numerous professional organizations including the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the Wisconsin Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, the American Dental Association, the Wisconsin Dental Association, and Alpha Omega. As an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Marquette School of Dentistry since 2012, Dr. Kimmel lectures to students on topics of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Through his active participation in multiple study clubs and attending lectures and courses locally and nationally, Dr. Kimmel provides the most current procedures and treatment in oral surgery.
Dr. Kimmel enjoys spending time with his wife Betsy and their three children. He plays hockey and golf in his free times and stays active within the community.

I was very scared going into my proceedure because I never undergone IV sedation let alone a “surgical” procedure in my life. So I was VERY thankful for Dr Kimmels assistant (I believe her name was Heather) because she helped calm me down and was very kind, same with Dr Kimmel! The healing process was very easy & I only needed one stitch. Pain level was a solid 3 or 4 (out of 10 scale) at MOST but overall felt little to no pain with the medicine prescribed to ease it!

This survey and very positive comments is for Alissa L., who I think answers the phone at the Oak Creek office. I called very early on Monday morning July 12 and advised her that I had a tooth that was going bad and I was in a lot of pain. I knew at some point I would need it pulled. I had to go out of town because my father needed some surgery and my mother passed away. I need to be with him for the surgery. I knew it was short notice and Alissa tried to get me in with Dr. Kimmel who extracted my last tooth. He was also very caring and did a wonderful job. I did have and appointment on Jul 29, but couldn't find anything sooner that Thursday, July 15. She said she would contact Dr. Kimmel to possibly prescribe some antibiotics for the pain. She didn't forget about me, because later in the afternoon she was advised that there was a cancelation with Dr. Kimmel on July 13 and quickly booked the appointment for me and called me soon after. I am so grateful for her effort to get me in - I can't tell you how happy my wife and I are. Thank you, Thank you!! You are the Best!

Dr. Kimmel and his staff are outstanding. Very compassionate, personable and knowledgeable. Dr. Kimmel removed a failed implant (put in by another surgeon). The procedure went very well with minimal bone loss. It is obvious he is concerned about patient comfort and care.
